I just returned today from Lima, leaving Marco there with his family. On Monday Marco's beautiful mother and Jessica's long awaited abuelita passed away. We buried her on Tuesday afternoon, with the sun shining, a host of loving family members and friends paying tribute and with a full police escort - fitting for such a wonderful lady.
I am truly sad that Jessica did not get the chance to meet her abuelita - but she will certainly know all about her and be reminded often what a great person she was - not only through the man she made her son (Jessica's father), but through her impressions on Rebecca and Sammy and me.
TO LIVE IN THE HEARTS OF THOSE YOU LOVE, IS NOT TO DIE
God bless Marcela, and rest in peace.
Thank you for my dear husband, and all you raised him to be. For him I will always be thankful to you.

3. Birth certificate is issued
4. Jessica's BM signs over custody
5. Jessica has basic physical and first immunizations
6. Jessica's BM also sees a doctor and has blood tests
7. We receive Jessica's referral (actually this came early!)
8. We accept Jessica's referral (August 14th, 2007) and sign POA
9. Our POA is registered in Guatemala
10. The lawyer submits all docs to Family Court

12. Family Court social worker reviews our dossier, interviews Jessica's BM & sees Jessica in foster care. Jessica's BM signs consent for adoption for second time
13. A third consent by Jessica's BM is signed
14. The lawyer then submits a petition for approval to PGN

16. PGN issues its approval for the adoption to proceed

I am so sorry for your family's loss. Please know you are all in my thoughts and prayers.
Jessica continues to get more and more beautiful with each passing day. May her abuelita in heaven watch over her extra carefully until she is home with you forever.
